How long a bamboo product can "live" depends entirely on whether it can be used for maintenance. The newly purchased small and medium-sized bamboo products are best treated by high-temperature sealed steam re-steaming. After steaming for 2 to 3 hours, the insects and microorganisms hidden in the bamboo can be completely killed.
Due to the special nature of bamboo furniture, it should be placed in a dry place. If it is often placed in a damp or dark place, it will be beneficial to microbial growth due to humidity, and it is prone to mold. For large pieces of bamboo such as cabinets, bookshelves, and reclining chairs, the dirt in the gap should be removed and rinsed with water. In particular, bamboo utensils that are not in use should be washed, dried, and then stored in a dry, ventilated place.
The annual June and July is the rainy season and the wet weather. Therefore, it is necessary to check the sealed bamboo products frequently, and if it is long hair, it should be cleaned up in time. In case of good weather, take it out and dry it in time. If it is a collection of precious bamboo products, the preservation conditions are even more demanding. There are special storage cabinets, which have specific requirements for temperature and humidity. If the temperature is more than dry, put a small bottle of water on the grid built into the cabinet. The distance between the water and the bamboo products should not be too close to prevent the bamboo products from cracking.
If you have the condition to buy bamboo furniture, you can apply varnish and cooked tung oil. This is not only anti-mite, but also durable and beautiful, which is a good thing.
